Business Administration Apprenticeship
This is an excellent opportunity to work on Reception as part of our Practice Administration Team in our busy office based in Shrewsbury town centre. You will gain experience and knowledge of day-to-day administrative tasks in a legal environment, whilst working towards a Business Administrator apprenticeship, including dealing with clients face to face and on the telephone or via email.
Main responsibilities
To provide administrative support to the Accounts and Admin team which will include:
- Dealing with all new enquiries by phone, email or face to face
- Reception and switchboard duties
- Taking credit card payments
- Receiving and sorting incoming post and dealing with all paperwork
- Dealing with outgoing post
- Opening of electronic files and associated administrative tasks
- General administration of documents including scanning and photocopying as required
- File closing and archiving in line with the firm’s procedures
Working towards
- You will be working towards gaining the skills, knowledge and behaviours to obtain your Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship
- You will be required to attend Shrewsbury College one day per week, with the remainder of the working week at our office in Shrewsbury town centre
Career progression after this apprenticeship
- This role is initially for a fixed term for 18 months, with a wide scope to work across the business with future prospects of a permanent position for the right candidate
Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade C/4) Essential
- GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade C/4) Essential
Experience
- Sound IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft packages – Outlook, Word and Excel in particular.
- Preferably experience of working within an office environment
- Preferably experience of working within a customer service environment
Skills and Capabilities
- High level of numeracy.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload within a busy and environment.
- Accuracy and a very high standard of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and a friendly and helpful approach to all tasks.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and deal with multiple tasks effectively.
- Team oriented and collaborative with a flexible, can-do attitude.
- Ability to produce clear and well-presented paperwork.
