Our specialist team will work with you to ensure that your licence is prepared and submitted correctly, in the most efficient timescale possible.
Our fees are based on an hourly rate. Each application is dealt with on a case-by-case basis and we will provide you with a fee estimate at the outset of your application.
It is our experience that a straightforward premises licence application involving no objections from any interested parties would cost in the region of £1500 (plus VAT of £300) to £2000 (plus VAT of £400).
Should an application become more complex our fees will increase accordingly depending upon the number of objections raised by any relevant interested parties. Depending upon the number and issues raised our fees could amount to £5000 (plus VAT of £1000) for a case where issues are raised, for example the police, environmental health regarding noise issues, neighbours of the property or residents associations can raise concerns as to the application.
Obtaining suitable plans
Advising on varying the licence
Attendance and representation at the licensing subcommittee hearing of the responsible authority. If representations are received, and attendance and representation of the licensing subcommittee is required, then we will provide a separate fee estimate for this work which will be charged at an hourly rate.
There will be expenses in submitting a premises licence application. Expenses are costs related to your matter that are payable to 3rd parties, such as the application fee. We will pay the disbursements on your behalf to ensure a smoother process. We will ask that you supply these disbursements on account of costs at the outset of the application.
The application fee for a premises licence will depend upon the rateable value band of your premises. The initial application fee ranges between £100 and £635. The annual fee thereafter for your premises licence will range between £70 and £350, again depending upon the rateable value band of your premises:

The fee for advertising the application in the local press will be approximately £150.
Such factors could include liaising with the relevant authorities in respect of premises licences, the use of listed buildings where building regulations or listing restrictions provide issues in relation to noise nuisance, liaising with the local police representatives in relation to any previous or current issues at the premises or surrounding areas in relation to crime and disorder, or the Fire Service in relation to any fire safety issues in the premises.
