Legal Team Support | Dispute Resolution & Personal Injury Teams

Main responsibilities

To provide secretarial and administrative support to the Legal Advisers within the team, which will include:

  • Deal with all new enquiries by phone, email or face to face.
  • To receive and sort incoming post and deal with all returned client paperwork such as client care paperwork, monies on account and ID.
  • Preparation and sending out of ‘pre-pack’s to clients.
  • Client care and due diligence including conflict checks, credit safe and ID checks, bankruptcy searches, preparation of client care letters and preparing synopsis sheets for signature.
  • Dictation, document production and collating enclosures.
  • Opening of files and associated administrative tasks.
  • General administration of documents including scanning and photocopying as required.
  • To file correspondence and other relevant documents within client files (both hard and soft copy).
  • File closing and archiving in line with the firm’s procedures.

Qualifications

  • Good standard of education with a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).

Experience

  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a Legal Secretarial/administration/support role.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Outlook for diary management and to book appointments and meetings as requested.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • High level of numeracy.
  • Ability to prioritise workload within a busy and environment.
  • Accuracy and a very high standard of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and deal with multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team oriented and collaborative with a flexible, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to produce clear and well-presented paperwork.
  • Sound IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft packages – Outlook, Word and Excel in particular.
