On 7th September the Hatchers charity quiz night returned for the fourth year running, this time raising funds for Cancer Research UK and the Riding for the Disabled Association, the firm’s nominated charities for 2016. The evening took place at Netley Hall in Dorrington and was supported by a host of Shropshire businesses.
21 teams of local professionals took part on the night and competed under a new format for 2016. Each team was given a Joker which they could play for a round of their choice. If they matched or beat the Hatchers team score they doubled their points for that round, boosting their chances of victory! Quizmaster Val Edwards (Partner at Hatchers and Head of Commercial Property) challenged contestants on a broad range of subjects, from sport to literature and from SClub7 to Nicolas Sarkozy!
A raffle was held, with prizes kindly donated by Shropshire businesses. These included spa treatments, a tablet and a day’s paintballing. Competition in the quiz was fierce with Whittingham Riddell teams claiming an impressive third and second place, but with the Lloyds Bank team claiming the victorious top spot!
Hatchers would like to congratulate the winners and thank everyone who participated for their generosity and enthusiasm on the night. With your help we raised £1,100.00, to be divided equally between two very worthy causes, and an enjoyable evening was had by all.
Our nominated charities
Cancer Research works to help prevent cancer, diagnose it earlier, develop new treatments and optimise current ones. All with the aim of increasing survival rates. The Cavalier Centre Much Wenlock, will be a designated centre for the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) and the home of Perry RDA Ltd.
